"How do I maintain a pleasant relationship with my colt?"

Dear Keith...
Saturday, March 4, 2006
Hi,
Would you please direct me to any of your information that might help me to maintain a pleasant relationship with my colt ie. is it possible to eliminate nipping and crowding without strong-arm techniques at this
young age?
Thanks

Hi, you sent me the email (I've attached below) asking for guidance with
your horse.
To help out, I just put up a list of over 215 training topics - and each has
a direct link to free newsletter articles (the one I co-write with John's
son Josh) plus related books, videos and audio CDs by John Lyons. If you're
like me and you've got a big stack of videos or books - and you can't
remember which one covers "bucking" or "buddy sour horses" or "head tossing"
- then you can turn to this page for instant help. Of course, with
Christmas coming up, you may also want to book mark the page so you can find
answers for your horse-lovin friends. Here's the page:
http://www.horsemanship101.com/Horse-Training-Tools/index1001.html.
While you're there, I'd be honored if you signed up for the free training
email I co-write with John's son, Josh if you haven't done so already. (You
can do so on most pages of the site - you'll see a link at the top in red
"Free Training Newsletter."
If you're looking for something in particular (beyond that covered by the
topics listed, just drop me a line and I'll get you pointed in the right
direction.
Regards,
Keith

Thanks Keith
This is terrific! Thank you so much, and I will sign up for your email. Just an update; the colt is now 18 months old. I am relatively new at this but am told that he is the "smartest horse I have ever met" by a number of folks who know horses. We are past our earlier problems; he spent the summer in a herd of about 20 horses with a trainer that I respect (uses Ray Hunt-like techniques; similar to you I think). Now he is a joy, but that intelligence has to be channeled!
I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming clinic - meanwhile, I will enjoy the info that you have provided.
Many thanks
Kristine
