Hello,
I have a horse that is consistantly pushing into the bit. I was have problems only because I do not have enough experience so I got a trainer to help me finish breaking him. The trainer tells me he is now in a bit (she started him off on a hackamore) and at times is now starting to freeze and then rears on her. He is still pushing into the bit can you suggest anything to help me?

Hello Mr. Hosman,
I found an article addressing exactly what my gelding is doing and after reading it I realized I taught him to do it. He is "rooting into the bit" and I should not have released the reins I should have held until he released his head. Well now that I know I can correct myself to be able to help him understand what I want. Thank you for your timely response I really appreciate it and the website is very informative.
