"One thing to keep in mind when doing that exercise is that you need to keep your hands moving smoothly and slowly. Take it at a walk when you first begin; hold off on applying speed until both you and your horse understand the correct steps. Later, when you can pick up one rein and your horse quickly stops moving the shoulder on the same side and pivots his rear (a "turn on fore," thank you), then you've got the exercise nailed.
Today we'll take a cue from that last lesson. We're going to move the horse's hip again, but we'll keep moving through it, no stopping your forward motion this time.
